following is d copy of SO CALLED FEEDBACK i gave in writin ( though in short-form.. )
"To Shivani Mam.
it was my usual lecture goin on. a hot tue. aftnoon. Abhishek Sir's antics, fun, laughter & of course Maya.suddenly a silence & Sir spoke - "Ek Modelling contest hai 4 d students of MAAC dombivli. i thot, so vats d big deal ??!!?? der was no way i could particiapte in a modelling contest...& Organic Modelling, just not my cup of tea, ven i had just started 2 learn how 2 make a normal human body.
come thursday i submitted my name 4 d contest aft much thinkin & Sir's morale boostin talk. ( nvr i had thot dat dis move will turn out 2 b d biggest confidence booster in dis field of work..)
a week of hardwork- makin diff hands, legs etc. face modellin was still a dreamy issue. 2 days b4 d contest Sir actually finished face modellin. boldly i desided not 2 practice face n even d body attachments ( left it up2 d modellin devil!! ). it was d end of class on 10th jan ven Sir announced dat its not only modellin on a given ref. v ver supposed 2 give a write up & characterise our model. now dis seemed 2 me a very bizarre, stupid, funny etc idea...
friday 11th jan 2pm- i sat in d middle of d class wid a very tensed & a bit haggard face in front of me ( GUESS WHO??)... on d white board ver stated 9 diff points. d stupid write up suddenly didn't seem stupid. rather d exact opposite. d characterization & write up thin was givin me d freedom 2 enhance my character as per my wish...yipppeee..but... HOW 2 DO DAT?? d given character @ 1st seemed 2 b an ancient character- sumthin supernatural. a thot gave birth 2 a character belongin 2 d future.
i wrote, wrote, wrote... suddenly it was 2 sides of a page dat i had filles in. & yet my character, my futuristic machine was Anonymous..."CHROMA- my character finally got a name." sumhow made a very yucky sketch & submitted it 2 d same person who was very tense 2hrs b4.
( poss in d last 2 hrs dat person had sum light moments, sum giggles due 2 my usual antics like makin noises, lazy movements etc. dis is vat i think though. mayb dat person was annoyed but didn't show ne displeasure at all.) got a comment of 'Extra-ordinary write-up' while leavin. but i was quick 2 snap back, " Madam, Extra-ordinary only till dis stage, aage utnahi bura model banega!!" i left.
12th jan- i sumhow managed 2 get up @ 6.45 am. got ready n reached my Kurukshetra 4 d next 3 days. 8 am & i was on d same pc i usually sit. d contest had started. i had already decided 2 complete d body 1st & den d face. so d neck started & continued downwards. arms ver left 4 2nd day. d bust part was complete & as usual i got a prob attachin d bust & abdomen. i continued my way down. soon d torso was done wid. d basic leg part was easy & i finished it in 10 mins. den a little bit of detailin also. again i faced a prob attachin d stilletoes 2 d ankle. sumhow managed it, but dat looked horrible. so it was almost done ven Abhishek Sir popped in as usual, " kya public log, kaisa hai? model kitna hua?" i told d 2 probs 2 Sir dat i was facin. he said it could b solved later. so d 11 3ds-max users & me d lone Maya user lef 4 d day.
13th jan- i had been haunted d whole of d remainder of last day on how 2 solve d multiple edge probs. leavin aside dat i started wid d arms & got stuck on d palms. now my model being a robot, i had d privilege 2 do sumhtin diff. so no digits on d palm. a plain hand wid d thumb attached 2 d main palm. d face turned out a demon 4 me takin almost 3 hrs. mesh flow as almost non-existent. still i managed 2 make d complete face sumhow. end of day 2 & still d multiple edge prob remained. end of day 2 & my model was almost complete. all details remained though.
14th jan- d last day had added a little tension. but d model was 2 b completed. so being on time would help i guessed. climbin up d stairs i encountered d same person i have been mentioning all through. i squandered up quickly just 2 find dat d class had not been opened. my frustration increased but half an hour quickly ended wid general talks n jokes.
it was crunch time & all d work 2 b done was takin a toll on me. yet it had 2 b done. i added d necessary detailing. did sum experiments also. Sir finally helped wid d rendering environment. my model was finallly over as also d presentation, possible in dat remainin time. but d half hour startin time was ruinin my special day. add 2 it d same old person asked 2 wait outside 4 sumtime. turned out dat a feedback was 2 b given on d contest in writin. i brushed aside all, wrote 2 lines & turned around ven d same voice stopped me, " kya Abhishek, sirf 2 lines. aapse jyada expected tha." i finally let out dat its my 1st anniversary. d smilin face let me off wid Best Compliments. but d promise of givin a written feedback let 2 dis paper blog. ;p
dis surely isnt a feedback but d contest has boosted me 2 d extent of writin volumes comparable 2 only writin in exams.
d contest 4 me was a very thought out idea. perfectly planned & precise execution.
dis contest has boosted my confidence 2 a much higher level. d result remains irrevelant 2 me. its just proven 2 myself dat i can prepare a model. over a period of time i'm confident of improvin & of course WINNING.
hope dis kind of a contest is held again & again. ever so thanks 2 Abhishek Sir & SHIVANI Mam ( 'D Anonymous person throughout in dis...') 4 their encouragement n more so 4 organising dis contest.
